As much as I love my job for this summer, it can be very busy at times. But, I truly believe that “Happy Hour” was invented as a means to unwind and relax mid-work week. On Wednesday, a group of interns decided to take on The Frying Pan–a sea barge/bar located on Pier 66 of the Hudson River. If you check out the reviews for The Frying Pan on Yelp, you will see it is described as being an “adult jungle gym”, which essentially describes it pretty well.
On a Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., it was packed. It’s outdoors and on the water so this makes perfect sense for an ideal after work spot on a nice evening. My group secured a table and quickly ordered up a pitcher of their white wine sangria. This sangria was nothing short of amazing. It had fresh fruit chunks of mango, blueberries, peaches and pineapple. They are clearly known for this concoction as it appeared that nearly every table had a pitcher of their own. I also got a lemon pepper chicken wrap which was amazing. The rest of the people in my group got a cheeseburger and they claimed it was one of the best they had ever eaten.
If you are looking for a good spot to enjoy the weather, the company of some friends and a delicious glass of sangria, I would highly recommend checking out The Frying Pan.
