After a couple of weeks of nagging, my friend finally dragged me to the Botanical Garden in the Bronx. We went on a Saturday morning, so it was free admission. It was crowded, but it was enormous! According to one sign, it’s apparently 250 acres, and has 50 different garden themes. We were only planning to spend a couple of hours then swing by Columbia University, but we ended up spending almost the entire day there, leaving just before it closed!
It was a great change of pace compared to the hustle and concrete jungle New York usually offers. I’m hoping when my family comes to visit we can go by here — it’s definitely worth a visit! While we were there, they had a special Monet exhibit of water lilies. They also had a couple of original Monet paintings, including one never before seen in the United States.
